working principle for peristaltic pump

Peristaltic pump convey fluid by alternately squeezing and releasing the flexible tube of the pump. It’s like squeezing a tube between two fingers as your fingers move, negative pressure is formed in the tube and the liquid flows with it. Peristaltic pump is a “pillow” fluid formed in a section of pump tube between two rollers. The volume of the “pillow” depends on the inner diameter of the pump tube and the geometric characteristics of the rotor. Flow depends on the product of the rotational speed of the pump head and the size of the “pillow” and the number of “pillows” produced by the rotor in each turn. The size of “pillow” is usually constant except when pumping fluid with extra viscous fluid. Comparing the pumps with the same diameter of the rotor, the pumps with larger “pillow” volume are produced and the volume of fluid transported by the rotor in each turn is larger, but the pulsation degree is also larger. This is similar to the case of diaphragm valves. The pump with a smaller “pillow” volume is produced, and the fluid volume conveyed by the rotor is smaller in each turn, moreover, the small “pillow” formed rapidly and continuously makes the fluid flow more stable. This is similar to the case of gear pumps.

After the pump tube is used for about 220 hours, the hose can be turned over  that is, 90 degree rotation, because after a long time squeezing one side of the hose, it is easy to cause damage to one side, and turning over can increase the service life.

The storage period of the pump tube shall not exceed one year  long-term inapplicability will cause aging.

Lubricate the pump rollers every 6 months special lubricants are required.
